BURLESQUERCISE UK

Dancing Dirty or Female Empowerment?

More Than Dance

A Journey Of Confidence, Friendship and Transformation

An uplifting documentary exploring confidence, friendship and personal transformation through dance.

Rash Productions is proud to announce the upcoming online premiere of its feature documentary, “Burlesquercise UK-Dancing Dirty or Female Empowerment” - a compelling and uplifting film that explores the lives of ordinary women who discover confidence, self-expression and community through the world of a burlesque-inspired fitness class.

'Burlesquercise' was created by Amy Parkes who, after personal set backs, wanted to create a safe place for women of every shape and every age to express themselves without judgement.

Through intimate interviews, behind-the-scenes access and emotional personal journeys, “Burlesquercise” explores how dance can become a powerful tool for personal transformation.

The documentary follows participants from a wide range of backgrounds as they overcome self-doubt, embrace new challenges and find a supportive community that helps them grow both on and off the stage.

Produced by Amy and Directed by Julian Austwick for Rash Productions, the film shines a light on the positive impact that creative expression and community can have on mental wellbeing, confidence and personal development. But also looks at the other side of the argument with differing views on the subject.

"At its heart, Burlesquercise is a story about people discovering strengths they didn't know they had," said Julian. "It's about friendship, courage and finding confidence in unexpected places."
